Fast Foto

This was a collaboration assignment for our final project in Art 108. Our intent was to capture the the image of a person when a camera is put in front of them when they are off guard. We achieved this by driving around to fast food location and simply whipping out our camera and snapping a picture when the employee came to the window. The employee would not a lot of time to show an expression. We received all types of emotion and expressions. Most importantly, we had a lot of fun doing this assignment. You can see it on the 2nd floor in the Liberal Arts building at Boise State University.

construct of what feels like a recollection

This was another art exhibit done out of a locker in the PAW building at BSU. Not to sound like a brown noser because Erin is my TA for Art 108, but I actually liked hers a lot. My interpretation was that Erin wanted to grab the attention of the viewer and have them look inside and find out what was going on. I liked that approach because it can interest everyone. Then she has a living room set up with picture frames that are unproportionate to the furniture that is inside. I got a sense of a "remembrance of childhood or growing up." Some of the pictures looked like they may have had some personal significance or meaning. Here's 3 pics, enjoy:

James Turrell

James Turrell is a known photographer who mainly known from how he captures light and space. He has done a lot of architectural photographs that capture light and space as well. He finds the right angles to show everything he wants to. Here are some pics:

Damian Hirst

Damian Hirst was also very interesting. I remembered him from lecture where he was enclosing an enormous tree in a greenhouse. Not gonna lie, it was pretty weird at first. However after looking through his other work, I am very interested in his work to come. He has an odd outlook on preserving death and I can appreciate it. Here are a few of his pieces.

Annette Messager

I'm not real big on installations but Annette Messager's work is pretty interesting. You can definitely see the hard work that goes into her art. I remember the slides of the birds that were set up in rows from class. But, I was not able to find a lot about her online but I google image searched her work and she has some pretty cool stuff. I chose three of my favorite pieces from her.

Paho mann

Paho mann was interesting to me. He is definitely a different type of artist than what I am used to. However, he has advice to offer pertaining to our latest project for class. Most of his art is exhibited in a museum style appearance of collected items. My favorite one that he had was the Re-inhabited Circle K's. It was kind of cool to see the stores that are there now.
